Albert Village Primary School is over 100 years old, but inside the building there has been an impressive modernisation over the last 5 years.

A new hall built in 2012 has made a vast difference to the teaching areas available in our school. We are also lucky to have a teaching kitchen, studio, library and 7 large classrooms.

An Ofsted inspection in November 2019 rated our school "Good" in all areas.

Albert Village Primary School is a small primary school in north-west Leicestershire. The school seeks to maintain values of high individual achievement in a happy and secure school community.

Our school community includes supportive parents and Governors. Many parents and friends make a contribution to the day to day life of the school. Our children are involved in many community activities as we aim to encourage them to be active citizens of Albert Village and the local area. We aim to develop children’s understanding of their local environment through increasing the amount of work we do outside and around the village. We are building links with the National Forest and Derby University.

The building is set in grounds that include a sports field and a developing environmental area. Children have the chance to play in safe play areas.

We have continued to develop our buildings to meet the changing needs of school, most recently with a new hall, classroom and library. All children in classes from Reception to Year 6 have their own classrooms inside the school building. Our Nursery is based in a mobile classroom. The catchment area that the school serves includes a variety of home backgrounds. In school, we seek to value this diversity while building common values and aims.

Albert Village works collaboratively with many other schools. Notably, we are members of Affinity Teaching Alliance , the Ashby Family of Schools (which are primary schools feeding Ivanhoe College in Ashby) and Unity a group of small schools who have joined together as a company to work to provide activities for children and staff.

Rise is a family of schools. We work with and for each other.

We currently comprise of 23 CofE and Community primary schools, Great strides have been made and we are proud of the fact that all our schools are now deemed to be’ Good’ in the eyes of Ofsted. We want, however, for that milestone to be a marker on our journey, rather than the destination itself. Our family of schools are all different shapes and sizes, serving rich and varied communities and that is one of the many things we love about our Trust.

Children are placed at the heart of everything we do. Our team of staff are skilled, hardworking and committed to developing all of your child, not just their academic ability. In the Heart of England - Residents of Leicestershire enjoy the best of everything

Leicestershire is a beautiful county at the heart of England, within the developing National Forest.  It is a county where you can discover completely unspoilt villages and market towns, open countryside and panoramic views with rocky summits and secluded valleys.

Leicestershire has a wide variety of attractions including Bosworth Battlefield, where the course of English history changed dramatically, Snibston Discovery Park, which recalls our industrial past, and the National Space Centre.

Loughborough, in the north of the County is at the forefront of Information Technology and Loughborough University is also the national headquarters for many sports in the UK.  A number of Olympic teams will be training at Loughborough University in preparation for the 2012 Games in London, including, among others, the British Swimming Team, the British Triathlon Team, the elite British Athletes and the English Women’s Football Team.

The jet engine was invented in Lutterworth, in the south of the County, while Hinckley in the west was where the hosiery and footwear industries evolved.  Ashby-de-la-Zouch, in the north-west, and Market Harborough, in the south-east, are two very attractive, historical market towns.  Melton Mowbray, in the north-east, is a rural market town famous for the pork pie and for Stilton cheese.

Cosmopolitan and cultured, historic but futuristic, Leicester in the centre of the County is nothing if not varied, with its strong cultural diversity, excellent entertainment, night-life and restaurants.  The newly re-developed centre of the City offers a wide range of shopping opportunities, from the largest permanent outdoor market in Europe to the extensive Highcross shopping centre.

Leicestershire is well served by many transportation networks.  Four motorways (M1, M69, M42 and M6) run through the County, and there are regular trains to London, Nottingham, Birmingham and the North.  For international travel East Midlands Airport is located in the north of the County, and Birmingham Airport is also easily accessible
