Coming to school is important!

We regularly monitor your child's attendance, any attendance that falls below 90% will result in a letter explaining the impact of missing school.

As a school we use the services of an Education Welfare Officer when attendance levels drop below an acceptable level.

Changes to Attendance Policy

There are major changes which will have an impact on any future holiday requests. The Department for Education have changed the regulations so that headteachers can no longer authorise requests for leave of absence during term time, except in exceptional circumstances. Requests will need to be made in writing to the governing body for exceptional circumstances. They will decide whether the absence can be authorised or not.

Any absence will be unauthorised in future unless there are exceptional circumstances. This is a major change but it is happening in all schools not just ours.
