Albert Village Community Primary School Welcomes New School Governor

Albert Village Community Primary School is delighted to welcome Miriam as a new member of its Governing Body.
Miriam is a CIMA-qualified accountant with 24 years of experience across a wide range of business sectors, most recently in the travel industry. Born and raised in the local area, she has strong ties to the community. Her daughter Millie is currently a pupil at Albert Village Community Primary School, one niece also attends the school, and another previously did so.
Miriam is passionate about supporting the school using her professional expertise, particularly in areas related to finance and strategic decision-making. She believes strongly in taking the time to listen, understand challenges, and work collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes for the school and, most importantly, its pupils.
While she has a lifelong enthusiasm for all things numbers-related, Miriam places great importance on pupil wellbeing. Having seen first-hand how the positive and nurturing environment at Albert Village Community Primary School has supported her daughter’s personal growth, she is keen to give back to the school in her new role as governor.
Speaking about her appointment, Miriam said:
“I’m proud to be joining the Governing Body at Albert Village Community Primary School. As both a parent and a member of the local community, the school means a great deal to me. I’m looking forward to listening, learning and working collaboratively to support the school in the best possible way, ensuring that pupils continue to thrive both academically and in terms of their wellbeing.”
Outside of her professional role and governor responsibilities, Miriam is a competitive strong woman athlete. She achieved third place at the English Natural Championships last year and subsequently represented England at the UK and Ireland Championships. She often trains alongside her daughter Millie, who shares her enthusiasm for the sport, with Miriam light-heartedly suggesting the school community should “watch this space” for a future World’s Strongest Woman.
The school looks forward to learning more about Miriam and working closely with her as she supports and contributes to the ongoing success of Albert Village Community Primary School.
