Welcome to Amethyst.

Miss Jones is the teacher in Year 4. She is also our school SENCo.  Amethyst start the year by building on key stage 2 curriculum started in Year 3.  It's a special year, when the classmates get more responsibility in the school and look forward to the music event of the year - Rise Voices.  Year 4 children from all the Rise Schools get together for one night only and perform specially selected songs to their parents at a large venue. 

In class we focus on learning and remembering the times tables.  Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) is great fun and the children will enjoy showing you their math skills.  We can't express how important home-reading is to support your child's learning, so please encourage their reading from books, tablets, kindles etc. Let them read to you and remember to fill in the reading diary so Miss Jones knows how well they're getting on.

Amethyst class starts school days at 8.45am and home time is 3.15pm.
