Welcome to Year 1

A warm welcome to Diamond Class! Year 1 is a big year for children as they transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1. For most, it is a year of great progress and development and it is wonderful to see the children shine and grow, both personally and academically.

We cover a wide range of subjects and topics in Year 1 as part of our ambitious curriculum, including geography, history, science, art, DT, computing, RE, PSHE, English, phonics and maths.

In Diamond class, we strive to provide exciting and engaging lessons wherever possible, from fun science practicals and skill-based computing lessons, to hands-on maths lessons and role-play in English. We also enjoy sharing stories, and we try to instil a love of reading throughout the school day.
