Fond Farewell to Much-Loved Staff Member After 35 Years of Service
Albert Village Community Primary School is celebrating the remarkable career of Janet Twigg, who is retiring after 35 years of dedicated service as a Midday Supervisor and treasured member of the school community.
Janet has been far more than just a valued staff member. Over the decades, she has been a constant presence of care, support, and warmth—serving as a compassionate mentor and friend to generations of children and colleagues. Her calm presence and nurturing nature have helped shape a safe and happy environment for countless pupils during their school day.
Known for her love of baking and generous spirit, Janet’s kindness extended beyond the playground. Her legendary homemade treats and family-first values made her a beloved figure throughout the school. As she steps into retirement, Janet is looking forward to travelling—especially a long-awaited trip to Australia to visit her family and spend quality time with loved ones.
Headteacher Cheryl Lott shared her heartfelt appreciation:
"Janet Twigg is one of those rare people who become the heart of a school. Her dedication, warmth, and ability to connect with children and staff alike have made her truly irreplaceable. She has given so much to our school, and we are incredibly grateful. Janet will be deeply missed, and we wish her all the happiness and adventure in her well-deserved retirement."
Janet’s retirement marks the end of an incredible era at Albert Village Community Primary School, but her impact and example will live on for many years to come.
